Formula 1: Alonso makes up ten places at Silverstone
Damage limitation for Fernando Alonso in the British Grand Prix. The Spaniard, in whose Ferrari dampers from ZF Friedrichshafen AG are used, took a disappointing 16th start position in qualifying for the ninth round of the Formula 1 World Championship.
However, the two-time World Champion really got his head down in the race: during the 52 race laps, Alonso made up position after position before finally taking eight World Championship points after taking sixth position at the flag. As a result, he defended his fourth place in the Drivers’ World Championship.
