Formula 1: Another victory for ZF Sachs partner Ferrari
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso clinched his second consecutive Formula 1 victory at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Spaniard who relies on dampers from ZF Sachs Race Engineering in his car had secured the pole position in qualifying and fought a thrilling duel with Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) throughout the race. With his fourth triumph of the season Alonso improved to second place in the drivers championship. With just four races to go, Alonso痴 gap to the front runner amounts to merely eleven points.
In fifth place, Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg again scored valuable championship points. For the German whose team uses dampers made in Schweinfurt as well this marked the 13th finish in the points in the 15 Grand Prix races held so far. Ferrari driver Felipe Massa whose vehicle is fitted with ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers too came ninth on the spectacular city street circuit in the Asian island state. The Brazilian, who after an unfortunate qualifying had to start into the race from the last grid position, showed a fighting performance and rewarded himself with two championship points.
