Formula 1: One-two clean sweep for Brawn at Monza
Brawn drivers Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button celebrated a one-two clean sweep in the Italian Grand Prix. Barrichello, whose Brawn-Mercedes is also equipped with ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers like that of his team mate, clinched his second Formula 1 victory of the year around the high-speed track at Monza. He is also still in contention for the World Championship title, like his British team mate who maintained his championship lead. With 146 points now in the Manufacturers’ Championship the Brawn-Mercedes team with dampers from the high-tech factory in Schweinfurt forged well clear of its closest rivals.
Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen, another driver of a ZF Sachs partner team, also collected valuable world championship points. The Finn, who relies on ZF Sachs dampers, can also be Formula 1 World Champion. Nick Heidfeld’s performance was also impressive. The 32-year old driver from Mönchengladbach fought his way through the field from 15th to seventh place and in doing so collected two world championship points in his BMW-Sauber fitted with ZF Sachs dampers.
