DTM: Mattias Ekstr・ clinches podium place for Audi
After missing a win at the season opener due to a puncture, Audi driver Mattias Ekstr・ clinched his first podium position at the second race of the season at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. The Swede whose Audi A4 DTM is equipped with a clutch from ZF Sachs Race Engineering finished third behind winner Gary Paffett and Bruno Spengler (both Mercedes). 75,000 spectators (throughout the weekend) witnessed a thrilling DTM race at which Timo Scheider (Audi, 5th place), Jamie Green (Mercedes, 6th place), Mike Rockenfeller (Audi, 7th place) and Maro Engel (Mercedes, 8th place) were other drivers scoring points finishes in cars fitted with clutches from ZF Sachs.
All Audi A4 DTM cars as well as the 2008-spec Mercedes-Benz use clutch high-tech by ZF Sachs Race Engineering. Before the third DTM round at the Norisring from 26 to 28 June, reigning champion Timo Scheider is leading the championship with 12 points, ahead of Tom Kristensen (Audi) and Gary Paffett as the runners-up sharing the same points score.
