Formula 1: ZF Sachs partner BMW Sauber F1 on the podium
At Monza Robert Kubica, as the best driver of ZF Sachs Race Engineering’s partner team in Formula 1, clinched third place for BMW SAuber F1. The Pole, whose monoposto racer is equipped with dampers from the German technology company based in Schweinfurt, managed a convincing recovery on a wet track from eleventh place. In the standings Kubica strengthened his third place in front of last year’s World Champion Kimi Räikkönen four rounds before the end of the season. Kubica’s team-mate Nick Heidfeld completed the result for the BMW Sauber F1 Team with a fifth-place finish.
As the best Ferrari driver, Felipe Massa, whose racing car is fitted with dampers from ZF Sachs Race Engineering as well, clinched sixth place on the Italian high-speed circuit. In the thrilling title fight Massa thus approached the leader of the standings, Lewis Hamilton, with a one-point gap.
