Heidfeld takes third podium finish of 2008
At the ninth race of the Formula 1 season at Silverstone Nick Heidfeld celebrated his third podium of the year after finishing second. The German, whose BMW-Sauber racer is equipped with ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers, started from fifth place and impressed with his overtaking finesse on the wet track.
Rubens Barrichello was the biggest surprise of the day. The Brazilian – racing with a clutch from Schweinfurt – benefitted from his Honda team’s good decision to switch early to rain tyres which saw him catapulted up the field from 16th on the grid to third position at the finish.
