Formula 1: ZF partner team Ferrari scores points in season opener

Both Ferrari drivers scored points on the dawning of a new era, in which turbocharged engines are permitted again. Last year’s championship runner-up Fernando Alonso finished fifth in the Australian Grand Prix. The Spaniard’s Ferrari F14 T is equipped with dampers from ZF Friedrichshafen AG. Alonso’s team mate Kimi Räikkönen finished eighth in Melbourne. As a result, Ferrari is fourth in the manufacturers’ classification.

The Sauber F1 Team reached the finish in twelfth place with Adrian Sutil and Esteban Gutierrez in 13th position. Like Ferrari, the Swiss based team also relies on the damper technology from Germany.
