WEC: Toyota wins at season finale in Bahrain

Successful conclusion of the first full WEC season for Toyota: Anthony Davidson, Sébastien Buemi and Stéphane Sarrazin celebrated their first victory of the season on the Toyota TS030 Hybrid’s last run in the 6-hour race in Bahrain. With that, Toyota has won two of the three last WEC races of the year. In qualifying, Davidson/Buemi/Sarrazin had taken position two on the grid behind their team-mates Alexander Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre and Kazuki Nakajima. ZF has been Technical Partner of Toyota since this season.

Marcel Fässler/André Lotterer/Benoît Tréluyer in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro, which is equipped with a clutch by ZF, had to admit defeat by only 70.5 seconds after six hours of racing. Audi had secured the manufacturers’ title in the World Championship before the season’s finale in Bahrain, while the Audi drivers Loïc Duval, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish had been confirmed as the 2013 World Champions in the drivers’ classification.
