DTM: Bruno Spengler with start-finish victory at the Nürburgring

Bruno Spengler celebrates a start-finish victory at the Nürburgring at the sixth round of the DTM season. The Franco-Canadian who had also started from the pole position in his BMW M3 DTM after 49 laps had a 6.703-second advantage in front of Edoardo Mortara (Audi).

In brilliant sunshine and in front of completely sold-out stands, the 89,000 spectators (throughout the weekend) watched a commanding drive of triumph by the BMW racer: the perfect gift for the Bavarian brand that is celebrating the 40th anniversary of BMW M GmbH this weekend, completed by the third place clinched by brand colleague Martin Tomczyk.

The quickest Mercedes-Benz driver was Jamie Green, who finished in fourth place. Leader of the standings Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) was sixth behind Mike Rockenfeller (Audi), but commandingly defended his lead in the standings. Bruno Spengler with a 20-point gap is now his new fiercest rival. All three premium manufacturers involved in the DTM, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, rely on clutch high-tech from ZF Friedrichshafen AG.
