First Audi overall victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours

At Germany’s greatest race the ZF partners achieved a tremendous success. For the first time, Audi celebrated overall victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours - and a one-two result at that. The two Audi R8 LMS ultra cars of the winning team, Phoenix Racing, and the brand colleagues from Mamerow Racing were using ZF clutches in the gruelling marathon. Six other teams among the top ten had modules from the technology company installed in the drivetrain as well. More than half of the entrants in the field of nearly 200 race cars relied on various ZF components at the endurance race in the “Green Hell”. ZF was thus once more one of the most desirable partners at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

DTM: Gary Paffett wins home race at Brands Hatch

Commanding start-finish victory for Gary Paffett at the third round of the 2012 DTM season at Brands Hatch. At his home round the British racer in the Mercedes AMG C-Coupé thus extended his lead in the drivers’ standings to 25 points. On seeing the chequered flag after 98 high-speed laps on the shortest track of the calendar Paffett, who had clinched the pole position the day before as well, had a 5.065s advantage over the runner-up, Bruno Spengler (BMW). Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) with a gap of 5.579s finished in third place.

All of the three premium manufacturers involved in the most popular international touring car series, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, rely on clutch high-tech from ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The DTM continues in two weeks from now at Spielberg, Austria.
