DTM: Two podium places for Audi at the finale

By finishing the final DTM race at the Hockenheimring in Baden-Wuerttemberg as the runner-up Martin Tomczyk locked his dominant performance in the 2011 season in concrete. The native of Rosenheim, Bavaria, who was determined as champion in the last race at Valencia, merely had to admit defeat to Jamie Green (Mercedes). Audi racer Miguel Molina clinched the first podium place in his DTM career. All A4 DTM cars are equipped with clutch high-tech from ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Points were also scored by Audi drivers Mike Rockenfeller in fourth place, Mattias Ekström in sixth, and Timo Scheider and Oliver Jarvis in seventh and eighth place, respectively. In the final standings Ekström thus overtook Bruno Spengler, who finished out of the points, and secured the slot of the runner-up.

ZF has been involved in the DTM as an official supplier since the beginning of the 2011 season. This year Audi exclusively relies on the company’s clutches. From the 2012 season on, ZF will be the exclusive supplier of clutch systems to the three premium car manufacturers, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The new DTM season will open at Hockenheim at the end of April.
