Formula 1: Fernando Alonso takes fourth place in Singapore

Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso clinched fourth place in the Singapore Grand Prix. The Spaniard, whose car is equipped with dampers supplied by ZF Friedrichshafen AG, now holds third overall in the standings after the 14th of 19 World Championship rounds. Team mate Felipe Massa was out of luck. The Brazilian was hit up the rear and suffered a puncture as ex-World Champion Lewis Hamilton attempted an overtaking manoeuvre. Afterwards no better than ninth place was possible for Massa.

Sauber-Ferrari driver Sergio Pérez, in whose car ZF dampers are also used, scored points for the third time in his debut season after finishing tenth in the only night race on the Formula 1 calendar.
