Formula1: first victory of the season for ZF Sachs partner Ferrari

Great relief for Ferrari: Fernando Alonso celebrated a long-awaited first victory of the season for his team in the British Grand Prix. The Spaniard, whose red racer is equipped with ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers, started the ninth race of the 2011 Formula 1 World Championship from third place on the grid. Thanks to a series of fast laps and his crew’s faultless pit stops the two-time World Champion worked his way two places forward. Alonso jumped from fifth to third in the Drivers’ World Championship standings.

Felipe Massa, also racing for ZF Sachs partner Ferrari, completed the good result with fifth place for the Scuderia in England.

Celebration for Sergio Pérez. The Mexican Formula 1 newcomer whose Sauber Ferrari also relies on damper technology from Schweinfurt recorded his best World Championship result to date in seventh place.

Jaime Alguersuari scored the final World Championship point in tenth position. The Spaniard’s Toro Rosso-Ferrari team uses ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers and clutches in its drivers cars.
